Expanding Safety Awareness Using Performance Incentives

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2019

It’s no secret.   A safe workplace and a successful workplace are one and the same.   Elevating safety consciousness creates a sense of community; constantly reinforcing the idea that ‘we’re all in this together’ – and it is through working together a safe workplace is both created and sustained.

As a result, one of the first things long-term Safety Pays users ask about is how to expand the game into other areas of the company.     They’ve had the first-hand experience with Safety Pays motivational power and therefore are looking for ways to elevate workforce consciousness into other areas that could benefit from heightened focus.

Demand for a Safety Pays styled motivational program became so great in the 1990s, we literally created another game system:  Performance Pays.   However, purchasing an additional motivational game system is unnecessary; especially in the safety culture of today’s American workplace.

Safety is now considered a global attribute of any successful company.   There is the recognition that safety touches everything – whether HR based, on-time based or in areas such as quality, productivity as well as efficiency.   All of the dozens of processes that drive such concerns have safety linkage in some way.

We’ve therefore developed a variety of performance incentive tools as added layering to a customer’s on-going Safety Pays game system.  The list includes addressing issues such as absenteeism & tardiness, maintaining a clean workspace, proper cleaning & maintenance of vehicles, equipment and tools, on-time completion of administrative requirements… all are areas Safety Pays can help address.

It’s yet another reminder that when a company chooses Safety Pays, they’re purchasing not just a product, but a service – one that offers nearly 30 years of employee motivation expertise.
